JC Class of 00S14 @ Marina South Posted by Hello

Doggy survives the Cluck Cluck year.... and nicely so!!!

Hoho.. this title's pretty cryptic eh? Let me enlighten you un-enlightened ones.

Essentially, it's Cluck Cluck year--- Rooster's year. And l'il me, being born in the year of the Dog, has supposedly a danged good fortune this year, which so far has proved to be quite true!

For one, my CNY was great! One of the best I'd had since I could remember.

And because so many happy and good things happened to me these past few days, I'm going to recount them here... to spread the joy.... well, sort of.

DISCLAIMER: This is an extremely narcisstic and bimbotic post. Do not read on if your intellect and sensibilities are easily offended. I MEAN IT!

1) I caught up with my juniors from Dunman High String Ensemble and they confirmed what my bro said to me--- that half my violin teacher's students know who I am, because she talks about me so much..... Apparently, I've become sort of a legend to these people. After all, I'm a good 5-10 years older than them! And it's really heartening to know that an old teacher still remembers you and tells your stories to inspire people. It's GREAT I tell ya! Like WOA..... I'm a LEGEND! A living legend!

2) Had a really rough time catching the new jazz techniques on Sat.... Axle turns and triple pirouettes and what nots. Was feeling rather disheartened when the J*tterb*gs scholarship director came up to me after the class to say: "Claire, I can see that your jazz has really improved a lot so keep up with the good work.... and I like it that you've lost quite a nice bit of weight. Keep it up!"

I thought: Is she joking or what? I can't even do a double pirouette without hopping and she's telling me I've improved? And MTV's been feeding me sugared drinks EVERYDAY.... how can I possibly have lost weight?

Then again, the other scholars seemed to share her warped view too! One girl even told me she wished she had my figure!!!???

Like huh? This is the 1st time someone told me something like that. So I HAVE to blog it! Hee...

3) Had dance rehearsal on Thursday.... and 3 good things happened. First of all, so and so did not appear to spoil my happy post-CNY mood. I seriously believe not seeing the person for a while helps immensely in the recovery process.

Secondly, I got asked out for dinner on Valentine's Day... albeit by someone whom I totally didn't like at all. Well, at least someone ASKED! And this someone DANCED!

Third and MOST IMPORTANTLY, my hip hop instructor P*t finally knows my NAME!!! Hurrah!!! After dancing and being in his class for 2 years, he's finally learnt my name, and addresses me properly instead of "eh, that girl over there ah..." and so on. For 2 years I was invisible and nameless.

You may think nothing of this, but this dude is quite a figure in the dance circle AND he has a horrible memory for people's names.... among other things. So I'm glad he remembered mine. It means that I'm being noticed.... hopefully for my dance.

After the rehearsal, P*t even gave me a lift to the mrt and asked if I wanted to have supper with him and his elite dance cronies. I was like WOA!!!! This is something man! It's like being accepted in the circle of 'trust'.... In the elite dance circle.

And I was SO happy because this is such a milestone that I almost messaged so and so... And my triumph was that I deleted the message after I've composed it.

He may be the only one who'll know what this incident means but I don't have to share it with him. I went home and told my Mom all about it.... I guess she doesn't really understand the magnitude of this, but at least she listens. Unconditionally.

4) Sat Night Fever (At Union Square and Cocolatte after)

Pre: Went shoe-shopping after jazz classes... and I found the perfect pair of salsa heels. They're bronze and strappy and beautiful and they cost peanuts in the post CNY sale. REAL NEAT!

During: If you thought the weight part was bimbotic, this part's even worse. So don't read on.

Union was O-K.... nothing fantastic. Was severely traumatised by the multiple turnings that characterised the LA style of salsa. Apparently Singaporeans don't do Cuban style cos they lack the groove so LA's easier. But I was trained in Cuban you see?

LA's a totally new concept to me and I FLOPPED on the dance floor! It was horrid... It's even more horrid than sitting there not being able to dance.

Saw couples doing Rueda on the dancefloor and t'was SO COOL! I vow to pick it up and return to the place once more! In a couple of years time mayhaps.... cos the crowd's really much older there.

Right now, it's hiphop time at Coco, which proved to be thoroughly enjoyable!

Guest DJ from New York in the house and he started rapping halfway through playing. Really engaging guy I tell you! Music's great too! Precisely my cup of tea! And since I only had girlfriends with me, guess wat???

What else? We got picked up....hee.... and since it was Sat night, bees buzzed aplenty. So much so that I wished I had 'bee-repellents' with me....

But the bees proved to be really cute ones!!! And entertaining ones!!!

First came THE TRIO. They're all cute in an ABC kind of way. Quite well-built and speak with a slightly Yankee accent.

Pick-up method: Surround the girls and dance around them and try to wheedle our way into their circle. Next shout 1-2-3 to each other and ask for their names....

But boys! Really! My ear was just in front of you when you shouted to your pal to start asking on 1-2-3.... Don't you think it's TOO UNSUBTLE? We SO saw that coming! All of us!

So anyway, this bee in a cap asked: Hi, I'm xxx (can't remember). What's your name?

Me: (guffawing inside out cos I SO saw it coming...) Oh... I'm Melinda.

Bee in cap: You're cute!

Me: Sorry??

Bee in cap: I think you're very cute!

Me: (you too!) Thank you!

N.B: bracketed conversation are mental ones.

So why am I Melinda? Cos it's a nice name and I've just watched the trailer on apple.com and most importantly, it's a FAKE name! ahhaha.... gotcha there!

But anyway, *BEEP* PASS!!!

Trio was replaced and nudged out by a a DUO of bees in long-sleeved shirts.... the dressy club wear kind. They had stylish hair like pseudo-Jpop stars but were too skinny and lanky. Ah... but tall is good nonetheless.

Pick-up method: Just dance with the girls.... until they notice us. Then continues dancing with them, all the while trying to inch closer.

Seriously these bees are the worst of the lot. At least the trio BOTHERED to introduce themselves. This duo just danced wildly beside us and at some point it got really uncomfortable, so I rearranged my pals and I into a safer location to continue our partying.

Bet these dudes are the CHINK bengsters! Totally gross!

*BEEP* FAIL!!!

Trio gladly returned to their spots around us... when in came 2 really tall and well-built guys. Do*gl*s spared no time in introducing himself and proceeded with the most 'chivalrous'-sounding pick-up line of the evening...

D: Do you know these guys? (the TRIO)
Me: nope...
D: Are they bothering you and your friends?
Me: Not really.... but it's slightly uncomfortable....
D: Do you want me to pretend that I know you... that we're friends to get them to go away?
Me: ermm.... it's ok. thanks anyway.
D: So what's your name?
Me: Melinda....(smirking faces of bemused friends around me)
D: That's a nice name... are you studying?
Me: yes...
D: over here or overseas?
Me: (already turned away and talking to a friend of mine... pretended not to hear....)

then the DJ started rapping and we all turned to watch him....

And then I made my escape cos it's 2am and ergo my curfew's maxed out.

Un generale, a GREAT Ego-Trip! And a GREAT night out!

5) Sunday was HIP HOP DAY! Ah... probably my favourite day of the week. Dance is an everyday affair but Sundays are different. I used to hate Sundays when I was younger because it meant the end of the weekend and I probably have lotsa homework to catch up on. But I ADORE Sundays now because after 5 hours of intense physical activity, I get to go out with my dance pals for a good meal in a restaurant and BIATCH the whole day away.

This week's selection is Sushi Tei.... They serve really good sorbet ice-creams in frozen fruit!! And so it was we chatted and Sha did a little jiggy in the restaurant, then we all couldn't stand not dancing and off we went somewhere to practise our moves till it's time to go for my next meal....

Oh no! Of course the day hasn't ended! It's my JC class outing to Marina South for BBQ-steamboat. Hesitated going at first cos M ain't ard.... but I went to SIX with dance pals, bought a nice pink pair of hoop earrings that I just HAD to show it around.

Ergo I went. And BOY, was it a great meal! And great company too! T'was fun catching up with old classmates, some of whom I've not seen in years!!??

Overall, it's been a great weekend!

6) V-day:

This fateful day is what every single and newly-single dread. It's the season of depression, when all things remotely red, pink, and heart-shaped bring nausea to my whole being.... But hey! That wasn't the case at all!

Received a V-day gift in the morning.... from my colleague. T'was so sweet of her!

Then I went about work as usual. Went to collect tapes from c*ntr*l and there were 3 editors there...one of them a sound editor who was cute in a l'il boy way. I could see the other 2 editors nudging him here and there from the corner of my eye... and he hid his head behind newspapers.

Then he mumbled something REALLY CRYPTIC.... which I'm absolutely clueless about.... about me being in the papers or something...

And I went: Huh??

And the other 2 editors tried to comment but I still couldn't make out what they were saying.... but it was definitely directed at me... and they were definitely trying to help the sound editor.

Left after taking the tapes but hey! That was an ego-trip ALREADY!!! :)

Bought chocolates for my date(s) later....

Went for dance as usual after work. And as I walked from Suntec to Millenia, it dawned on me that this was PRECISELY the place where so and so spent out Valentine's Day in 2004--- Suntec and Millenia!!!

I even went past the restaurant where we celebrated V-day AND our 2nd year anniversary... But they bring no pain at all. I'm IMMUNE!!! YAY!!!

Partly cos Millenia now has been dissociated from so and so. It's associated with J*itterb*gs and dance and it's a happy place.... with people whom I love being ard. And partly cos this V-day, i'm celebrating it right here with 14 dates--- the dance scholars. You see, only 2 scholars are attached and both of them don't celebrate V-day cos they find it too commercial.

It was chocolates galore in the studio.... Everyone distributes them like some kid's birthday party! And post distributing, we went for supper where chatted about life, dance, goals and passions until it was time to go home....

I find these sessions out with my dance pals really engaging and meaningful! And I thank God that I'm not with so and so anymore... cos I wouldn't be allowed so much freedom to stay out with friends if I were with him.

Being single's WAYY COOL! Cos you're in control... you've options, you're choices, you can pursue whatever you want and you can realised the dreams that you want and not the dreams that you as a couple wants.

7) General welfare:

On the dance front, other than those 2 incidents mentioned above, I've been chosen to kind of 'lead' the dance for the J*itterb*gs 1st Anniversary dance performance.... It's quite a challenge but hey it's P*T and he's chosen me and I'm SO EXCITED about it!!! YIPPEE!!!

J*st*ce, another dance scholar, said that my moves and grooves were good and I just needed bigger movements..... and I could be like Sh*l*ng!!! Like WOA.... Sh*l*ng's one of the best female hiphop dancers in Singapore!!!

But I do think I'm kinda improving! Standing in front of the class helps a lot...

On the work front, my boss thought my Constantine review was "meaty... with a great sense of humour" and that my links were well-written! YIPPEE!!!

So you see??? Doggy's cluck cluck year is one of good luck and opportunities aplenty!

Okay.... this has been an EXTREMELY long post! Enough from me for now! Wait for more pix from my dance concert!

Meanwhile, I'm editing Sideways and Hitch and feeling very happy.... Ciao!

To cool you in.... Some leafy glade...

The words from Lisa Ono's "I Wish You Love" (originally by Frank Sinatra)

I wish you bluebirds in the spring,
to give your heart a song to sing,
And then a kiss, but more than this,
I wish you love.

And in July a lemonade
To cool you in some leafy glade,
I wish you health, and more than wealth,
I wish you love.

My breaking heart and I agree
that you and I could never be,
So with my best, my very best,
I set you free.

I wish you shelter from the storm,
a cozy fire to keep you warm,
But most of all, when snowflakes fall,
I wish you love.

'Tis the 2nd day of CNY and things can't get any better. My flu healed a lot.... though I'm on my 2nd box of tissue..

Fleecing relatives for money was non-existent on 2nd day 'cos everyone came on the first.

Didn't manage to sleep all that much before Mom decided our family ought to go on a day trip out.... To somewhere close to nature... To somewhere where we can walk (to make up for her lack of exercise and the overdose of CNY goodies)

SO... WOOSH! We all went down to the most beautiful stretch of road in Singapore--- Lornie Road, wherein lies the gem of a place called MacRitchie Reservoir.

Our destination: The newly-opened HSBC tree-top nature trail. Mom eagerly coaxed us to embark on it cos "It's only TWO km! Can finish in half an hour!"

YA RIGHT!

To tell the truth, I was quite eager to go for it. Always wanted to be like a National Geographic photographer and walk above the canopy layer of vast forests supported only by a network of ropes suspended by helicoptors. The idea of prancing amidst the vast greenery that was the canopy appealed to the nature gal in me.

When we finally found the trail, I was like ROASTED! T'was good weather but real HOT!

ANd so the foliage-sheltered forest trail was a cool relief. And that's where I found my own "leafy glade".

The beautiful song above kept playing in my head as I trekked down the pebble path.
"I wish you love...."
Thought about so and so again at this point, but it's a peaceful thought. I know I'm happy now and I've everything in life to be thankful for. This outing to nature with my family is just utterly perfect. And I felt so at ease and comforted that the world is just as beautiful as before. Nothing's lost and nothing's diminished just because someone dear has departed.

Yes, greenery has that effect on me... Sunlight on green green trees... SO BEAUTIFUL!

I love forest trails! So serene, so peaceful, so close to nature! I could seriously go on forever but I think this is enough gushing. The scenes of today have been photographed in my mind and I will remember these sights and when I'm down, this is one happy memory that I can summon to my aid.

Not that I'm down now... I'm superbly HIGH!

3 blisters, 2 packs of tissue, one plaster and several slices of dried mango later, we reached the 4km mark. Mom said she wants to turn back, which means we'll have to backtrack and walk 8km altogether. Meanwhile, Dad, always the man to play hero, charged ahead... ergo we followed.

Treetop 'trail' was just a drawbridge that was shorter than my corridor of my block. It was ONE WAY, which means we can't stay long for fear of blocking the path of people behind us, whcih I found really crap.

Then again, for the sight, the wind, the sense of achievement and dead adipose tissues, t'was well worth it.

Post-bridge, the climb up and down multiple stairways was excruciating.... for my parents. Bro and I breezed through the whole thing while Mom and Dad wheezed and panted their way through... oh well.... T'was quite a funny sight!

The really beautiful landscapes came after the bridge... Passed by the golf-course and walked through the whole sprawling thing, complete with the softest carpet grass! Took off my sandals and walked on them bare-footed. Ah.... bliss!

Told my bro that I've discovered the most ingenious way to test potential suitors. Not only for me, but this can work for everyone.

It's really quite simple, which is the brilliant part of it.

How do we tell if a person's worth investing our time in? As in after a few dates and you kind of have a general feel of the person, how can you tell if he's good enough to commit?

Get the person to walk through the whole stretch of the tree-top trail. If he survives it, he's worth it.

Firstly, it means the dude can appreciate nature and is quite sporty and outdoorsy, which suits me just fine. Walking 10km isn't all that hard and if he complains, I'll know just what a wimp he is. And wimps are no good in relationships. They'll just shy away and hide at the slightest bit of problem. Outdoorsy guys also tend to be more well-built, spontaneous and fun.

Secondly, if he can engage me and vice versa through the whole length of 4-5 hours, it means we've plenty of things to talk about and probably many common interests. And conversations should be spontaneous and witty, not the awkward "hmm.... ah..... so...." kind.

Thirdly, that he's willing to go through with it in the first place for me means he does care genuinely.

And last but not least, I've to be comfortable being alone with the person. If I'm not physically comfortable with his presence, it doesn't matter how interesting he is.... it just won't work.

So you see? Just one walk and you can tell so many things about the person. Now ain't it great? heehee.... I'm just so happy about this l'il discovery. It's not Nobel-worthy or wat... but it's something refreshing and new for me.

Went to Changi Airport to send Wei off to Australia. She's gonna be a speech therapist... Now I know doctors, lawyers, soon-to-be politicians, therapists and even policemen and of course lotsa lotsa journalists. I think I may JUST be able to get myself out of any trouble in this life! MUAHAHA*evil snigger*

Last pic of the day was of T, Wei and I. It's really weird cos she doesn't look sad a single bit! Maybe it's because her parents were going with her to help her settle down. Lucky gal!

Which reminds me.... J, you'll be back before you know it! So hang in there girl! :)

Later on, T and YJ (both 2 years my juniors) and I went for dinner and a great catching up session, followed by CNY flick, Seoul Raiders.....

OHMYGOSH! That TONY LEUNG CHIU WAI just blows me away! Other than that, it's a horrid show. really...

Read Tuesdays With Morrie? He talked about a perfect day. And this is another one of the perfect days of my new life. It's simple... plain even. But it's meaningful and it's with people whom I care about and who I know care for me too....

Ah.... now for some sleep.... Need the flu to go away before dancing starts again on Sat..... ZZZZzzzzzz

Beautiful fabulous place that doesn't look like SIngapore at all! But it is!!! It's dear old MacRitchie! Posted by Hello

The ROOSTER'S here to eliminate the OLD bees...

Happy NOOO EAR EVERYONE!!!

It's the year of the Iron Rooster this year... which means that the actual spring began a few days before the lunar new year, which supposedly bodes badly. But hey, every cloud has a silver lining right??? I've already hit rock bottom so the only way now's UP UP UP!

That's what I would like to believe and I want to be like Pollyanna and be glad for everything in life. But nope... I'm not so perfect. Sigh.

Had a SUPER rich lunch of yusheng, shark's fin, abalone and all the icky stuff that Chinese eat during new year..... courtesy of MTV... hohoho. And it was a MASS bitching session by the bosses and the perm staff. So hilarious!

Maybe it's cos of the overly-rich food or cos of gorgeous pineapple tarts or cos of the brilliant nuts my Dad personally cooked, I had to nurse a running nose through the whole of New Year's day.

Household's really weird on new year's day. When it's quiet, it's really quiet. Dad went to buy toto... mom and bro are the gaming fanatics jamming away on their comps... grandma watches TV and me? I blog! What else?

Then out of the blue, the first family of relatives comes in.... with my 2 nieces. And it's a riot. Then the 2nd came with my 2 nephews... then the 3rd came with one more niece.... and on and on...

Guess it's really good to have Grandma staying with us! I don't have to go anywhere, people just COME! hohoho!

Only drawback was my bro and I were kept busy pouring drinks and getting snacks ready. Then soon after, we had to play baby-sitter for all the kids in the house while the adults chatted. It's always the same thing! Every family gathering.... wedding, birthdays, funerals... somehow all the kids end up with ME! Do I have BABYSITTER written on my forehead or what?

But... I enjoyed the responsibility today. At least it's not as extended as the 8 day funeral of my granddad! That time was really bad! I was like FULL TIME babysitter then! For a week!

T'was fun playing Monopoly, Mad Magazine, Jenga, Uno and haha... Pollypocket! To my parents my room's full of junk from childhood but to those kids, my room's a treasure trove of games and books and that's the way I like my room to be! Like I said... I don't ever want to grow up!

Ergo my detest for old fogeys.

Seriously it's not nice having flu on New Year's day.... I slept through the whole evening while parents were out at River Angbao!

Guess the only good thing about that is that I missed the crowd and the bore of the place AND cos I'm up, I get to watch the 41st Golden Horse Awards.

Wong Kar Wai's 2046 got nominated for 8 awards but didn't do all that well! hmmm.....

And what IS surprising is how AWESOME Tony Leung looked in a suit!

I have old fogey abhorrence in general and don't take too well to guys in business/formal wear because of the air of old-fogeyness it gives them.

But these men in black just BLOW ME AWAY! Andy Lau, Daniel Wu and Wong Lee Hom...

And the prince among them--- Tony Leung Chiu Wai!!!

Those brows... those eyes..... are just SO mesmerizing! They crinkle at the corners when he smiles that charming rougish grin. His demeanor's laidback but chic.... He looks young even though he's on the wrong side of 40. And he's such a great actor! He has this amazing depth about him that translates into class and he's not affected like other male actors. What I most like about him is that he doesn't look like the kind who takes himself too seriously... living life as he likes YET staying true to his lady love. How romantic is that???!!!

I mean.... even my mom loves him! Says a lot huh? Carina's one lucky lady!

Nothing much about the show actually. Lin Jia Xin's SO pretty and sweet in a simple grey dress and Lin Zhiling's AMAZINGLY tall and skinny but she's not all that beautiful. Andy Lau won best actor... Zhang Ziyi DIDN'T win best actress for once... l'il indie gems dominated the awards.

I tell you, I could go on forever about Tony... Personally me thinks Tony's an awful name. Prefer Chiu Wai anytime.... Since I'm Cantonese anyway.

Ah.... Mom's right. I should just get out of this country for greener pastures out there. It's a big sea with lotsa fishes.... or in my case, lotsa bees. And quality bees at that!

Oh ya... forgot to mention this. Mom tried to MATCHMAKE ME! Again! With one of her friend's sons. ARGH!!!

J's right. Our Moms are fretting more than us. Why huh? And why do relatives LOVE to ask about our love life? It's not as thought they know me well. They only see me once a year for heaven's sake!

And most of them don't know that so and so and I have been off for quite some time. Asked about him... and all I could do was smile sheepishly and say no, he's not coming today.

okok.... enough new year rantings. Must be the pineapple tarts getting to my brain.

Here's wishing everyone a great year ahead!

PS- Old bee's been calling non stop. HOW??? i'm a dead duck... i'm a dead duck.... I'm a sickened dead duck...

CJ turns the BIG 2-2

Ah..... I've realised that this blog has become superbly self-indulgent. I just say what I want to with no regards to whoever's reading it. I've allowed myself to write about so and so and how I still think about him... albeit very rarely now.

It's just so difficult you know? Because I still see him at dance every week and he'll talk to me once in a while... and act as if nothing happened. But I've resolved to ignore him totally. Deleted that stick in the eye from my msn and friendster, which I see as HUGE benchmark given that our relationship started on msn. *sighs contentedly*

So... I turned 22 today. How nice! You only get to be the same digits every 11 years you know?

Sunday.. pre birthday day: I went to shop for groceries and stationery after dance. And there were all these obnoxious kids running around blocking my way. And their parents after them thinking that their overweight, coconut-headed, bespectacled geek kid's the best looking one around. I just feel like shoving those nutheads aside and shout: OUTTA MY WAY YOU TWERPS!

ok ok.... sometimes I'm in one of these me against the world mood. Which actually only happens while I shop. While I love shopping, I dislike the crowds that get in my way constantly. Orchard's still ok. It's the family kind of crowd that I detest. Why do couples with children amble on so FRIGGIN' SLOWLY? It's not like the kids are slow. NO! they run straight ahead and knock into people and things.... while their parents walk slower than ever... shouting after them at the top of their voices: " Boy ah!!! bu yao pao jiang kuai ah!"

I HATE THAT! Those are such loser behaviours and it scares me to think I'll be like these people in the future! My goodness! I cannot imagine myself like that!

At this rate I don't think I'll make a good parent. I'll just shout at my kid: "Shut your trap, you twerp!"

oh well... whatever.

Spent the whole Sunday night and the 1st few hours of my birthday burning soundtracks out from my computer... I'm trying to build up an even more extensive music collection you see. Plenty of birthday well-wishers along the way messaging me and chatting to me. and so I was happy.

My day at work is a REALLY hectic one! I reached office at 11... was 'homeless' cos the original occupant of my workstation returned from Beijing. So I worked out my script in half an hour on someone else's computer. Then came editing.... then came studio.... Denise was REALLY REALLY nice once again. She's such a pleasure to work with and she'll just chat with the rest of us like that. No airs whatsoever. And so witty too! And of course blindingly beautiful.

My team had tickets to watch Constantine and so I went even though my family's at home waiting for me with my birthday cake. Mom said I should enjoy myself. And anyway, everyone sleeps at earliest 2am in my household. I felt really loved and happy. Because they're just so strong... and there for me. It's nice.

Constantine was... oh well... worth that 14.50 cab ride home. Thrills and spills galore! And some cheap-thrills! HA! Action... occult... mythology... and keanu and rachel! Great combination! I'll take Constantine over Superman or Spiderman anyday. Let's not go into Daredevil. It's in "a class" of it's own man!

Acting-wise, Keanu was surprisingly successful because he doesn't need to look expressive. His 'perpetual perplexed incredulity' look (as mr tan put it) worked.... cos he could deliver dry one-liners the way they should be delivered. And I love Rachel! She's just so luminous and beautiful in a fey kind of way! Can imagine her as the fairy queen Titiana!

Oh yea... no spoilers here. But remember to stay till after the credits to watch the surprise ending! I got the tip-off from the screenshow. haha!

Birthday ended with a small family celebration... no, actually it ended on the cab ride home! :)

But part deux is coming up on 12th Feb Sat. I'm going salsa clubbing @ Union Square! YAY!!!

So excited! Now if I can only figure out what to wear... hmm.....

The Bees are coming.... BUZZZZ.... RUN!!!!

Yes dears!

It's been a nice week and the pink has certainly cheered me up more than considerably.

The only drawback is that the music's gone. And I can't put it back 'cos myfilestash.com limited their upload file size to 2MB.... Dang! And just when I've something good to share too!

(try downloading I'm Coming Out by Diana Ross... it's SO GOOD and It's Raining Men by Gerri Halliwell. They're brilliant girl-power songs. )

Started reading Tony Parson's Man and Boy but I just can go through with it. That the bastard had an extra-marital affair after all that his beautiful wife had sacrificed for him was just TOO much for me.

So what if he's the protagonist? I do not care for assholic protagonists at all. Zero-tolerance. Uh-huh.

Ray's done and all set for broadcast. It's really a brilliant brilliant movie about a brilliant brilliant man.... And I've SO gotta watch it.... When you're feeling down... try this:

"Hit the road, Jack, don't you come back, no more no more no more no more, hit ths road, Jack, don't you come back no more..."

WAYY COOL!!!

Just goes to prove my point that the greatest thing you can leave behind isn't wealth but what you've done for humanity. Legends that inspire generations of people come from these remarkable individuals. And I think it'll be cool if I can just achieve a tenth of that. really...

Watched "Closer" trailer too cos my colleague's editing it and got overwhelmed by how fragile modern human relationships are. Just a simple kiss can destroy 2 beautiful and seemingly perfect couples. How can something so beautiful be so easily destroyed? I cannot accept that harsh reality and therefore got upset with so and so later on... even though I told myself I cannot think about him anymore.

Oh well... In J's terms, it's a relapse. The each relapse gets increasingly less damaging to my nerves and for that I'm grateful.

And speaking of J, I'm starting to get freaked out that certain so and sos have been prying into our lives. It's really not all that nice. Then again, these people are out of our lives for good. So what does it matter what we write, or post, or whatever? They can be voyeurs... but we can avoid giving them the satisfaction that we're trying to avoid them. No?

Back to the title subject of today.... ZE BEES. Yes, the bees are coming just as I predicted. But like the witches from Macbeth, I was only half correct in my predictions. Ze bees did come a-buzzing. And trickling in they did. One or 2 at a time.

BUT.... met up with one of the proverbial bees on Sat after a whole day of dancing. Was in dance gear cos I couldn't be bothered to change...

28 ain't all that old and it was a Saturday, somemore he danced too..... did swing dancing in US and salsaed in Singapore. Naturally I expected a young punk...

Jaws dropped when I saw him..... to put it bluntly, I was out with someone like my Dad. Receding hairline, silver-rimmed specs, staid and stoic no-frills business shirt and pants... complete with black hair slicked back in a 1980s curry-puff coif.

The picture of both of us was really really weird. Him in old fogey business wear and me in my dance gear.... just SUPREMELY BIZARRE! And the worst thing was I had to go buy skateboards for props at Carrefour and he went with me. Gosh! He looked so blardy out of place. And the vibes were all WRONG!!!

When he tried one of the skateboards and skidded and almost killed a kid in the process, I knew... "This guy is trying too darn hard!"

He said he never even skated before... And only tried it cos he thought it looked easy. *BEEP* minus 100 points.... for attempted kid-killing.

So then we went to Gelare for a drink and while he offered to buy me a drink, I just stuffed 5 bucks to him and ordered mango/banana smoothie (my fave drink after dance). And he din refuse.

He asked for the cheapest drink there--- iced lemon tea. But it wasn't available so he ordered Snapple...

Mental me: This dude's SO stingy! Still dare to go on dates. EEwwww....

Conversation:

lalalalalalala

Me: Oh... Yes. I want to be a broadcast journalist...

Old bee: What kind of news in particular?

Me: Just normal news.... no financial news... Even though Dow Jones came to our school to recruit people. Financial news is niche but REALLY BORING..... so what did you study in US?

Old bee: Finance. I love numbers.... really good with them.

mental me (screaming): Sheesh he's a bore! So old still wanna play around! GROSS!!!! I feel like puking..... somebody pass me a paper bag!!!!

Old bee: So what dance did you do today?

Me: Oh.. a variety. mostly jazz... a little bit of salsa.

Old bee: oh you must be very good...

Me: passable. I'm only OK with hiphop. suck at jazz and ballet.

Old bee: how about nightclubs?

Me: Sorry?? (I really didn't get him)

Old bee: as in nightclub dancing?

mental me: Who the hell calls clubs and pubs NIGHTCLUBS these days? Doncha think the NIGHT is pretty redundant? You mean there are DAY-clubs???!!!

me: Oh... ok. Like I said.... hiphop's good. and RnB. An occasional mambo's fun too...

Old bee: I like 80's music.

mental me: I can see why!

Old bee: sorry.... are you schooling or working?

Me: thought you knew this? I told you this earlier...

Old bee: sorry... my memory's failing me. haha.. (sheepish laugh) getting to be like my Dad.

mental me: I can see why TOO! You old fogey!

These are just samples... there were tonnes of bloopers and evidences of old-fogeyness along the way. And we talked about an ok topic.. on gaydom. Then he suddenly managed to steer this OK topic to inappropriateness by saying some gay got an er**tion from watching him in a sauna. What the FUDGE???!!!

DANG!

And when I finally got to leave, I thought. Ok... so all the vibes were wrong. This guy will never want to see me again! I'm too young for him and he knows that. Neither will I ever see him... and good riddance!

BUT NO! This old bee who should seriously be on crutches KEEPS CALLING! It's freaking me out more than any voyeurs here... I mean seriously FREAKING ME OUT!

He'll call halfway through my dance class on Sunday and ask what I'll be doing for the rest of the day.... when I distinctly told him I'll be dancing the whole Sunday away just the day before.

He's become OVER-friendly on msn so I've blocked him. I mean.. seriously. This guy should get a grip on himself!

So... I presently suffer from Bee-adhorrence now. Sigh.... hopefully it'll go away. But for now.... NO MORE BEE-MEETING!

The blues... OH! The blues....

I've changed the colour template of the blog! YAY!!! Something I should have done long ago, actually. It's no longer bluey and gloomy anymore, but bright cheerful pinky and bloomy.... Very Chinese New Year actually. And the pink just reflects my emotional state so well! I feel happy just looking at that lovely shade of pink!

Pink attack... Woosh! Chase those blues away!
