Why?
Cos I've gotten to know so many cool people recently who're not the usual work and school types. ie. they've a life outside work or school. It's pretty amazing how these people come into my life after a certain worthless so and so left... Once again, I think it's the cosmic powers helping me.
They're not bees, mind you, but regular people. Unique individuals whom I appreciate and who appreciate me back. Our frequencies are similar and I see these friendships lasting for good.
True friends last longer than bees and any boyfriends anyway... SO i'd rather acquire more friends now. In fact, I'll invite them all to my wedding in June 22nd 2006! (That's the date I'll get married according to my darling horoscope.)
Got really close to JS, who's such a darling. She's my faculty mate and dances hiphop and enjoys clubbing and good music like me. We did shows together and we bitch and discuss about anything and everything under the sun. And she knows so and so, which makes her a more objective commentator on how things went wrong with us. But that's besides the point.
And her guy's equally cool! He dances hiphop too, twirls flames and DJs!!! And everytime i see him DJ-ing, I'll go WAH!!!
And JS's friend, Nic, speaks amazing German. I was SO impressed by her, cos she conversed a whole bloody conversation in fluent GERMAN!!! WAH!! And she's just as spunky as JS. Clubs well and has witty stuff to say about every issue we talk about.
Then there's RH, this 22 -yr- old Indian who's GOTTEN HIS MASTERS ALREADY!!! And who's the sub-editor of a certain reputable tabloid-sized local newspaper. Like TRIPLE WAH!!!
He's so cool and funny. Maybe it's cos he's widely travelled or maybe it's cos he's really laidback. It comes from being confident and knowing what you want in life and being comfortable with who you are.
So we all met up, watched movie and clubbed on fine Saturday at Liquid Room and it was awesome. Music was great. Company was even better. And even though I danced 6 hours earlier at rehearsals, I didn't feel tired at all. It was party all night man!! WOOHOO!!
Next up, RH is going to bring us to a Bhangara party. haha......
To tell the truth, I've always wanted to go for a Bhangara party, cos I find Bhangara music and beats awefullly infectious. And I wanna observe true blue indians do their thang. Cos Indians are a really groovy lot. And i mean it in a good way. I love the Bhangara groove. So exotic and cool!
There's my Spanish professor who salsas like me. She's charming in that subtly sexy Spanish kinda way. Deep-set eyes that speak volumes, defined robust brows... And the way she speaks English with a l'il Spanish lilt. It's JUST SO MESMERIZING! And she's wants to salsa here in Singapore and I promised to bring her along the next time I go salsa clubbing. It's so exciting!
Then few days back I got to know this SMU undergrad who used to be an AEP student. He does stained glass and has his own studio in his home. And he sells his works for thousands per piece! WAH!!! again. He gets brownie points for his appreciation of jazz-matazz stuff like me. Seriously, he knows all the best chill-out places in Singapore and the best music around. He's knows his thing and it's really fun to converse with him about music and art.
There's EL, a jazz pianist. She's a masters grad too and we're gonna play at her cousins's wedding, her at the piano and me at the violin. And I think she's really cool cos she into the whole jazz thing but at work she's a cut-throat finance journalist with the same reputable local tabloid-sized newspaper.
And finally, ah... this one's a bee. Mini-bee. Did I mention he's an accomplished ballet dancer? Hell he's cool! He shares my taste in movies and music and he dances and we really click. Talking to him is SO non-stressful like talking to my other bees cos he doesn't ask lame questions on my love life or drop any hints or flirt. It's just normal conversation on common topics which i like. Maybe it's cos he's matured, so he doesn't say all those lovey dovey mish mash. Or maybe he just really sees me as a friend and have absolutely no 'vested' interest at all. But I enjoy the 'platonic-ity' of it all. Cos then I can really say anything I wanna.
And I've met 2 salsa bees. One asked me out for coffee someday. And it's the 2nd time he asked. I'm just waiting for the 3rd time.... Rule of 3rds.. Girls you must remember that. RULE OF THIRDS...
The other just joined me clubbing last Sat, with another guy and a gal. And they clicked really well with some people in my bunch. It's the whole CH and HC thing. Oh well....
It's funny how I seem to attract a certain kind of people. The CH and HC kind. Cos so and so was like that. And in yr 2, some viola guy who's after me was like that and now salsa bee's like that.
Some may gasp: SO CHEENA!! My goodness, how can you take it?
Yea.... I dunno. Maybe I'm cheena at heart... and mind. Cheena is good. Ju mentioned cheena is stable and responsible and have plans laid out for their lives. And i tend to concur with her.
But so and so was cheena and look at what happened? haha.... but one bad apple doesn't spoil the whole basket. NOT YET at least. So I'll take my chances.
Meanwhile, these interesting people pepper up my drab existence with their sub-zero coolness. Brr... freezing.
