A Quaint L'il Night Out

T'was really just simple night out-cum 'catching up' session with with celeb pal, JP and another playwriting classmate of ours, LW. But the dinner-cum-movie combo was GREAT! Guess simplicity in the form of good company and conversation works wonders...

Lem*ngr*ss dinner was awesome. Hadn't had Thai fare in a while and I really missed green curry. JP introduced mango salad and it's such a MAJOR reprieve from my normal economic rice and noodles fare I've been feeding myself in school and at home. Bleah.... I will have to pay for eating all that by running extra later, but TO HELL WITH weight watching! Time to pig out abit after my Shangri-la show show. heeheehee...

Haven't been shopping in town for God knows how long, and admittedly, I WAS glad to be in civilisation and shopping amongst the trendy again. But funny how I can't seem to find anything I like enough to make me buy it there and then. It seems like of late, nothing really catches my fancy. Shop after shop full of great clothes, accessories, makeup, bags, shoes, the works. But why does everything look the same?

Why isn't there a single anything that stands out?

Maybe it's because I'm older and therefore wiser with my spending, or maybe it's just because I've become desensitised to beautiful things in general. Too many pretty girls in pretty clothes all around. Too many pretty boys with no substance all around. Too many crappy dates of which none I like.

I wish to God it's the former reason. It must SUCK big time to be desensitised to beautiful things and be numb to human relationships.

But like I always say, when all else fails, there's always dance and music..... and movies. Nothing beats viewing a great movie and coming out feeling like you've lived a whole centuary and learnt a whole lifetime of lessons!

Post-shopping, JP, LW and I caught T*m B*rton's Corps* Bride. It's breathtakingly beautiful and macabre, amazingly witty and SO friggin' full of references I gotta go watch it again and mull over every scene. Just to get the references right. :) Damned occupational hazard from MTV Days....

Anyway, the evening ended quite nicely. And I was glad.. Very much so. *sighs in contentment*

I still remember a great weekend night out with JP, LW and VG some time ago. Dinner at Espl*anade, then slow walk to F*llerton for ice-cream, where we sat there for 3 friggin' hours talking our hearts out and enjoying the evening breeze. It's BRILLIANT!

It's kinda ironic that we only do these get togethers in our final year when we were so much free-er in the 1st 3 yrs of our study. But better now than never.

Time to retire, but here's something courtesy of F.... crappy quiz but it answers a very basic human curiosity. Check it out!
