The Lowdown on the Highs

Life is interesting these days. For one, no more Fairytale Oddparents. I'm spread so thin I don't even sleep enough. Yea, yea... FINALLY people get to see my eyeballs turning yellow. 2 girls have already witnessed that freaky phenomenon... and counting.

Monday

Usual work day. Woke up to nightmare starring so and so. Then I remembered how peeved I was with him the previous night *read previous post* and it wasn't a nightmare anymore... More like a dream come true. D came to my place for project meeting and it took the better half of the day...

So and so was apologetic and messaged if he could take me out for lunch and shopping to make up for everything. Alas I was stuck on thinking up snide remarks for the director in my script. Then things turned bad after the meeting when I fell GODDAMN sick. As in dizzy spells, headaches, massive flu, sore body, fever, the whole works. I couldn't even stand properly... And it's my 3rd major illness since November's exam period. Have to do something about it. MissG and mr tan also got it! Wonder if it's MOS air since we were all there on Friday... I always KNEW it was a NASTY place. That place doesn't give me a good vibe at all... something's wrong. I always feel very exhausted there and not my usual clubbing self. But the rest seem to like it lots.

Maybe in some past life I died there so I hate that place.. or my karma just doesn't fit in with that place... oh well... whatever.

The point was I slept the whole Monday evening away. Can't even exercise! Dammit! It's all the worse cos I got shortlisted into this glamour quest thingey at R*V by C*rri* models. I feel like just pulling out.

Tuesday

It's always awesome to wake up with a horrible lump stuck in your throat and difficulty breathing.... Cos you know you've a FLOOO!!!! And that means Empress Dowager suddenly becomes all submissive and nice.... even bringing water and panadol to my room! Haha.... role reversal.

Anyway, I hopped outta bed soon enough, met up with a pal for coffee, talked about life and such. Twas great cos I've so much to learn from him... The US, the economy and all...

Then came so and so (mr D). Had late sushi lunch and went to S*ml*m to get him a gaming computer. That place is GEEK HEAVEN! I don't understand 95% of the stuff there and the overwhelming mass of plastic, metal and silicon made my head spin REALLY badly. Oh, but mr D's so nice to me now. He's like completely changed. *smiles*

Met up with my primary school classmates later in the evening and we played games and chatted till 3am, and even managed to watch ONE WHOLE DOCUMENTARY on Nat Geo. How geeky! haha... but can't fault. Most of my classmates are scholars, lawyers, doctors, engineers, and there're 4 from my faculty. I think for a primary school class, we did pretty well for ourselves.

And I loved the crappy humour and harmless banter. The musings on how we've all changed and reminescing on how we used to throw staplets into each other's hair and copy homework religiously during recess time. Those few hours with them were magical. Like being transported back in time to somewhere safe and pure. Once again, without sexual tensions flying across the rooms or people getting wasted. Hell, most of the don't even drink! Hahaha... or drink very little.

Oh and then there was my primary school crush... He's not as cute as then but still quite charming and he's a scholar. *smiles* And he asked if I was attached! hahaha.... And you wouldn't believe this. He knows commando bee!!!

Then Empress Dowager called and screamed despite my illness and the gathering came to an end... but part deux continues on Friday for a KTV sesison!!!

Wednesday

Woke up to doorbell ringing yesterday and swore in my sleep. As if Empress Dowager barging into my room to nag before going for singing class wasn't enough, she had to mess up her student schedule. I bet it's some silly student at the door who came by accident.

But incessant doorbell and knocking wouldn't go away, so I dragged myself outta bed to open the door. and Surprise Surprise!!!

It was the delivery of the LOVELIEST bouquet of white roses I've seen in my life!!

I sensed something fishy when mr D asked for my exact addy the previous night, but this is the FIRST time he's done such a thing!

Quote from the card within: "..... We shall have a smashing 2006! With love, hugs and kisses, Mr D."

He seems to like that name. Mr D.

Actually it sounds pretty cool, like some superhero nick. Mr D... the Doomsday Avenger... Mr D... the Destructor... Daredevil... whatever...

Point is, I'm all mushed up again. Ju said we're such suckers and we are. The resilience of womankind in times of hardship seems to leave us at the sight of flowers and other pretty things. dammit!

Went for the glamour quest costume fitting today. It's quite a limited selection and twasn't fun as I thought it'd be.

Later, met JP and E for some Indonesian fare at dinnertime. E is so angsty and convinced that all guys are bastards. JP meanwhile thinks they're still nice... or maybe she just hasn't met the slimy ones. I think I'm somewhere in between.

But E did say something true that nice normal guys are hard to come by nowadays, so if you find one, hold on for dear life. And JP and I were like WOA!!!! Then later, we evaluated our exes and all. All in all, had a good chat and I liked it lots. It's nice to catch up with people as people, not as say workmates or classmates.

Back to what E said. I guess it's true. The good ones are so far all players or soon-to-be players, or exhibiting playerism even if they're NOT actually players yet. The bad ones.. well, let's not even go into that.

In short, there're skeletons in everybody's closet. And I've been asking myself, why is it that the people I go out with only last a maximum of 5 dates before I get bored or they get bored??

The answer is: skeletons. We find out stuff that we don't really like about that person after a while and it peeves us. And people become couples because the part they liked about the person outweighs the part they don't like. Likes outnumber dislikes= good chance of working out. And if the peeve gets too disturbing, you'll lose interest in the person.

For me, I guess the shadow of mr D has always been there and comparisons are inevitable. And he's not just any guy. He's someone I know inside out. Hell, if there're skeletons in everyone's closet, I'm the one who has ransacked his closet totally and know every single femur, every single digit, every single bone!

Anyway, both E and JP left to meet their current beaus and I made my way to S's place to get a kickass skirt for the pageant tomorrow. S then revealed to me that some cutie from the boat party liked me! And we're all going to see each other on NYE! haha...

On the way home, got picked up by some weirdo. *like whoever picks people up at busstops??* He was so slimy. trying to get me for supper and asking for number and all. Needed help badly and wanted to call someone to get me out. But my ipod did the trick, along with bus 165. Thank God!

Back home, Mr W started talking to me again and taking an interest in my life. Found out later he's been doing some reading, ergo the lack of messages and online chatter. So I guess he's still remotely in the picture after all. Plus we'll all be at the same place on NYE.

That's all for now.... Bet my NYE weekend will RAWK!!! Can't wait. *grins*

PS- JP's Xmas gift is the weirdest gift I've ever received. But it'll come to good use next Halloween! heehee... meanwhile, need to develop some feline inclinations.....
