Why?
'Cos I sucessfully casted the 7 central characters of my Final year Project film.... *though they're all my friends*
Checked the mail this morning and surprise surprise!!!11 talents answered my casting call!!! WOOHOOO!!!
And they're surprisingly talented! Like theatre degree holders, ex models, ex SIA stewardesses who're also proficient ballerinas, who did TVCs and other theatre productions, indie actors....
The Singapore art scene ain't as grey as they depict. There're plenty of talents abound!!! YAY!!! I'm SOOOO happy i'm beaming.
Now comes the tough decision as to WHO to cast... there're just too many good ones.
Oh, and I still haven't found a paunchy balding UNCLE who can speak perfect hokkien yet so if any of you know of anyone, or your Dads cut such a figure, CALL MEEEE!!!!
On a more neutral note, I bought me-self a new organizer so I'm beaming tooo....
On a less happy note, my 2 bees didn't make it yesterday. One got called back to jump from a parachute at 3am and the other had meeting till 7.30pm, fell damn ill, suffered gastric and had to go home to hide. BAH!!!
But no matter the bees, I had an AWESOME time anyway. Went to play boardgames again, but only completed Taboo and Cranium. S&J, J&N, W&C totally made my day with riotous fun and laughter, then came a serious discussion about Falung*ng practitioners and Tibet*n monks being persecuted in China. It got pretty heated up as S felt indignant and we tried to defend the the Chinese to a certain extent. Even B*sh and the Ir*q war and Taiwan got dragged into this.
But we all agreed to disagree, because we know the world is never fair and there are 2 sides to the coin in every situation and we wouldn't know these situations, so we just let it be.
Sometimes I feel Singaporeans do care. It's just that we know our limitations, being smart and all. Yes, we wanna help. But how much can we do? Can we tell B*sh to NOT fight the Iraq war? Can we tell the Chinese gov to let Tibet be independant? Maybe it's because Singaporeans are more humanitarian than political. We can do our bit by being volunteers to help out disaster-struck victims, but when it comes to political stuff, we take a back-seat.
Anyways, enough of mind-boggling global stuff. Oh i just read that they actually coined a word "GLOCAL", meaning global but with a local flavour everyone can identify with.
W, C and I headed to Th*mper next for a fun night out. mr D and his minion came along too and I saw both of them in action. Specifically, they made an excuse to go to the loo, but their loo break took very long and I spotted them on the other end of the dancefloor dancing very hard next to a buncha females. Not a very pretty sight to me obviously...
So I chose not to care. I had my fair share of dudes dancing around me too anyway. And W being US-ed and all was such a party animal... we danced for more than 2 hours non-stop and when we finally left to get some water, some dude came up and said "Woa, you girls rock man! 2 hours and running..."
C, mr D and his minion left early cos they have work today... so Win and I went out and had a good chat about our lives and the people we meet... T'was a pleasant evening.
*smiles*
