Rainy days are good for jazz...
You can do those classic chill ones like Jane Monheit or Janet Seidel to get into a real romantic mood while the rain pitter-patters on your glass window.
You can travel to the wintery cold wonderland of Europe with quirky French jazz of Lisa Ono and Pink Martini.
You can let Bossa Nova beats by Stan Getz, the Gilberto family, Mind Games and others transport you to a sunshiny beach of azure blue waters, fine white sand and gently swaying palm trees. Think napping on a hammock, think chilled martinis. And the rain doesn't seem as dreary anymore.
You can do the chillout fusion jazz of Hotel Costes or De Phazz and let the metropolitan feel take over. Best done when you're in a tall building overlooking skyscrapers. The rain forms a slightly blurred view of the skyline, but it's precisely because it's blurred, it'll look like a water colour painting. Coupled with fusion jazz.... nothing beats that post-modernist romanticism.
I love rainy days.... When I'm happy, the water from heaven are 'showers of blessing'. When I'm upset, they are tears from above crying with me.
Rainy days put me in a ponderous mood. I think a lot, reflect alot, reminescence a lot about the past. Especially with mr D.
Rainy days are good for sleeping. 'Nuff said.
